Jamie Redknapp has said on Sky Sports News (3:24pm, August 31, 2021) that Manchester United winger Daniel James would be a good signing for Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United on summer transfer deadline day.
Sky Sports have reported that Leeds have agreed a £25 million deal with Premier League rivals United over the transfer of James.
The winger is expected to complete the transfer today after undergoing his medical at Leeds.
Former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Redknapp believes that James would be a very good signing for Leeds.
Redknapp said about James on Sky Sports News (3:24pm, August 31, 2021): “I think it would be a hit. I am pleased for him actually. Sometimes at a club like United, the pressure is so much.
“Every time he played, there will always be someone on the bench who can come on if he hasn’t done it after 60 minutes, and you could feel it got to him a little bit.
“I think going to Leeds, it’s a huge club, a great fanbase, to work with a manager like Bielsa who will take his game to another level, where there will be more individual attention on him, he can be a bit of a star there.
“A lot of good players in this Leeds side. I think that’s a really good signing for them.”

Would Daniel James make Leeds better?
James is a very good winger who is only 23 years of age and has pace and good technique.
The Wales international has already played in the Premier League with United.
United are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and the 23-year-old has shown at Old Trafford that he is not fazed by it.
This bodes well for James at Leeds, who are a massive club and the Elland Road faithful demand the best from their players.
Leeds do have some wonderful wingers, such as Raphinha and Jack Harrison, and James will have work extremely hard for his place in Bielsa’s team.
