Leeds United’s hopes of bringing Jack Harrison back to Elland Road have reportedly received a setback.

While Jack Harrison may not have won all Leeds fans over during his time at Elland Road, it would arguably be a good piece of business for Marcelo Bielsa’s side if they were able to bring him back for a second season.

Harrison’s inconsistently led to plenty of criticism. But there were moments of brilliance that reminded everyone exactly why he had been signed by Manchester City in the first place – most notably, his outstanding assist in the first-leg of the play-off semi-final.

However, Leeds’ hopes of re-signing the wide-man have received a setback with The Sun reporting that his parent club are not too interested in another loan deal and would be looking for £20 million before considering a permanent sale.

On another loan, Harrison has the potential to be an inspired addition. But with that looking unlikely at this stage, perhaps Leeds should turn their attention to one of his teammates at the Etihad Stadium who is reportedly available for a fifth of the price.

The Sun has reported that the likes of Leicester City and Celtic are eyeing up a move for Patrick Roberts, with City willing to sell for just £4 million as he heads into the final year of his contract.

Roberts is going into the summer off the back of an underwhelming loan spell at Girona in La Liga, but he had been excellent during his time at Parkhead previously. He not only made an impact in the Scottish Premiership, but also impressed in the Champions League, scoring against his parent club at one stage.

Roberts’ contract status makes a loan deal even less likely. But meeting his £4 million asking price could be a masterstroke if Bielsa sees something in the former Fulham youngster, especially as there are bound to be some Leeds supporters who will be excited to see a winger signed from Manchester City that is not Harrison.
