The talented centre-back could make his Leeds United debut this weekend.

Leeds United completed the signing of Aapo Halme from HJK Helsinki yesterday and there is a possibility that the talented young defender could make his debut for his new club in the FA Cup third round tie away to Newport County on Sunday.
It was initially anticipated that the game against the League Two side could come too soon for Halme, as the 19-year-old will surely require time to adjust to the demands of English football.
However, as reported by The Yorkshire Evening Post, Christiansen is considering including Halme in his squad for the game against Newport.

While it could be seen as something of a risk to call upon the youngster, this game represents an ideal opportunity to assess the level that Halme is at, and to gauge whether he should be involved with the first-team squad in any capacity in the remainder of the campaign.
Halme featured at senior level for HJK Helsinki and the tall centre-back would surely relish the chance to make an instant impact for his new club.

If he impresses then Halme can be seen as a useful option to improve Leeds’ depth in defence, whereas if he struggles then the club can stick to their original plan of allowing him to develop in the under-23 squad between now and May.
