The 23-year-old playmaker has been arguably Brentford’s player of the season so far, particularly impressing in front of the Sky cameras when Leeds visited Griffin Park, with Woods capping an eye-catching performance off with a well-taken goal in the closing stages.
Considering how Eunan O’Kane is struggling to recapture his form in the centre of the park, summer signing Mateusz Klich is yet to make any sort of impact and a red card against Wolves in midweek further highlighting Ronaldo Vieira’s inexperience, Thomas Christiansen needs to look to bolster the central midfield department in January.
Ryan Woods would fit the bill perfectly. An energetic midfielder capable of dictating the play from deep or driving the team forward, Woods has been the key cog in Dean Smith’s attacking philosophy at Brentford this season and could be a perfect fit for the Leeds midfield.
With HITC sources identifying interest from both Brighton and Burnley ahead of the January transfer window, Leeds will face a tough battle to bring the former Shrewsbury Town man to Elland Road, but they should be willing to pay a hefty fee to secure the talented midfielder’s services.
