Pierre-Michel Lasogga has struggled at Leeds since joining the Whites in the summer.

If Thomas Christiansen is to stop the rot at Leeds United and clinch the Whites’ first return to the Premier League since their financial collapse of 2004, than a proven goalscorer is needed.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga has scored five goals for the Yorkshire giants since joining the Elland Road club as a replacement for New Zealand international Chris Wood, but has simply not been good enough as Leeds’ main striker.
The 25-year-old was withdrawn at half-time on Saturday evening, as he failed to make any kind of impact during Leeds’ dismal 3-1 loss to Brentford at Griffin Park.
With Pawel Cibicki and Jay-Roy Grot failing to prove themselves in England’s second tier, it seems all Leeds fans can hope for is Lasogga to find his feet, unless the Whites look into the further depths of their squad.

The Whites do have money after raking in £15million for Wood in the summer, but should they give a chance to Swedish striker Marcus Antonsson before delving into the transfer market?
On loan at League One side Blackburn Rovers, Antonsson has finally found his feet in English football with four goals in 14 games for Tony Mowbray’s side.
He showed Leeds fans just what they’re missing by coming off the Rovers bench and scoring in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Barnet – picking up the ball from deep, Antonsson drove at the Barnet defence before unleashing a left-footed drive that nestled into the bottom corner.

Antonsson was awful at Elland Road last season, managing just three goals all season and failing to appear for Leeds after January 29. Placing faith in Lasogga is likely to be the wise move, but January is two months away.
Known for his pace and hard work, Blackburn’s number 20 is beginning to show the kind of form that saw Garry Monk splash out around £2million to sign him in the summer of 2016 from Swedish side Kalmar.
Finding the back of the net regularly once again, a rejuvenated Antonsson could be the perfect striker Leeds are crying out for to fire them to Championship promotion.
