Leeds United should make a move for Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic, with Chris Sutton having compared him to Arsenal star Mesut Ozil and Glenn Hoddle being impressed.
Although Leeds United head coach Paul Heckingbottom clearly wants Pablo Hernandez to sign a new deal, as quoted by The Yorkshire Evening Post, it is not yet clear if the Spanish attacking midfielder will put pen to paper on a contract extension.
There is no doubt that Hernandez is one of the best attacking midfielders in the Championship, but in the eventuality that the 32-year-old, who can also operate as a winger and is very popular among the fans of the West Yorkshire club, leaves Elland Road in the summer transfer window, Leeds should start looking at players who can succeed him.
One of the players who could be a very good replacement for Hernandez at Elland Road is Celtic and Australia international attacking midfielder Tom Rogic.
Rogic has been on the books of Celtic since 2013 and has been a key figure for the Glasgow giants for years.
The Australian is a very creative midfielder who almost always turns up in big matches, and the 25-year-old would be a very good signing for Leeds.
Seven years younger than Hernandez, Rogic would have a very good sell-on value, and given his experience of playing for Celtic, he would have no problem in turning out for another big club in Leeds.
With 27 goals in 77 starts in all competitions for the Hoops, as stated on the club’s official website, the former Central Coast Mariners star is a goal-threat from midfield.
