Leeds United may want to consider moving for the Swansea City man, who was brought to the Liberty Stadium by Garry Monk.

According to page 59 last week’s The Sun on Sunday, Swansea City left-back Stephen Kingsley would consider leaving if the Swans managed to land Norwich’s Martin Olsson. With that deal now in the bag (via BBC Sport), it would appear that the 22-year-old may be considering his options, and Leeds United should offer him another.

The Sun on Sunday (page 59) suggested that Wolves were interested in the Scotland international, but Leeds’ need to sign Kingsley is arguably greater.

And, crucially, the Whites may have an ace up their sleeve.

As it stands, Charlie Taylor’s days at Elland Road are numbered. According to the Guardian, his contract is up at the end of the season and he has been attracting attention from clubs in the Premier League, so it would perhaps be fair to assume that it may take Leeds achieving promotion for them to stand a chance of keeping him.

With Tyler Denton looking bright but perhaps still short of being ready for regular first-team football, Monk will surely need to prepare to bolster his options at left-back, even with Gaetano Berardi performing well when Taylor has been absent.

Therefore, it may make sense for Leeds to target Kingsley during this window before they watch him move elsewhere, as replacing Taylor will be an extremely difficult task.

This is where Leeds may have an advantage. It was current Whites boss Garry Monk who was in charge of the Swans when Kingsley joined from Falkirk in 2014, so he may well know what it may take to convince the youngster to move to the Yorkshire club.

Kingsley appears to have the potential to be an excellent addition. He has some experience of playing at the highest level, and while he is predominantly a left-back, he is also capable of playing in the middle which is another area which Leeds may want to address given the lack of numbers they have in that position.
