Leeds United’s under-23 side were beaten by Crystal Palace last week.

Freddie Ladapo (L) of Crystal Palace competes for the ball against Marko Grujic (C) of Liverpool FC during a 2017 Premier League Asia Trophy fixture at Hong Kong Stadium on July 19, 2017.

Freddie Ladapo showed his goalscoring prowess with a brace for the under-23 team against Leeds at the weekend.

The 24-year-old signed for Palace 18 months ago from non-league side Margate, but is yet get a proper chance in the first team.

The team he scored twice against on Friday evening should consider adding him to their list of potential January targets.

Ladapo is a natural goalscorer, quick with his feet and able to lead the line.

The Whites are reportedly monitoring MLS striker Cyle Larin (The Sun 10/9), but a loan deal for Ladapo could be a smarter option if Leeds decide they need striking reinforcements in January.

Palace have failed to score in the Premier League in five matches but are yet to give Ladapo an opportunity.

If this carries on then by January it will almost certainly be time for him to move to try and get first team football, with a loan deal potentially best for all parties.

Leeds have scored plenty this season but they have also had three games without netting.

Having an extra striker to call upon in Ladapo would be useful and could help ease pressure on loanee Pierre-Michel Lasogga.

It could be just minor tweaks at this point which help Leeds win promotion. Having witnessed what Ladapo can do first hand, they should keep tabs on him.
