Leeds United have one of the best attacking tridents in the Championship.

Samu Saiz, Egzjan Alioski and Pablo Hernandez have all dazzled this season and Leeds sit top of the table as a result.

Alioski and Hernandez were both on target in the Whites’ 3-0 demolition of Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Those three are frighteningly potent but, as last season showed, they are not without their flaws.

Saiz and Alioski both endured a very disappointing last six months of the 2017-18 campaign, with Saiz, in particular, going off the boil completely.

United didn’t cope with his or Alioski’s dip in form last term and that’s why Leeds could really still do with more cover – and why not hijack Sheffield Wednesday’s move for Lucas Piazon?

The Chelsea-owned Brazilian, who cost the Blues £10 million, can play on both wings and a number 10 role. That’s the sort of versatility that the Whites will need during a long season.

Goal.com claim that the Owls are in talks with Chelsea to sign him, but the Elland Road club wouldn’t be remiss in trying to muscle in on that potential deal.

Leeds fans will argue that they don’t need him, which is true as of now, but Piazon, who scored 12 goals and set up nine in 58 Championship games for Fulham, could come in very handy during the season.

No team’s first XI has ever won promotion to the Premier League – it’s a squad game and Piazon would undoubtedly add more depth to an attacking midfield that didn’t last the pace last season.
