Harry Redknapp has looked to hand his Birmingham City side a boost ahead of their trip to Leeds United on Tuesday.

In comments reported by the Birmingham Mail, Harry Redknapp has seemingly looked to give his struggling Birmingham side a boost ahead of their trip to Leeds by reminding his squad how drastically the Championship table can change as the season goes on.

The Blues go to Elland Road tonight one place above the bottom three, having won just one of their opening six league games.

And ahead of what perhaps looks a daunting trip to Elland Road on Tuesday following Leeds’ 5-0 win over Burton Albion at the weekend, Redknapp has reminded his side that the table is still some way off starting to take shape.

“If you look at the table at the moment there’s nothing in it – a win or two and you move up 10 places,” he said, as reported by the Birmingham Mail.

“There’s teams at the top at the moment who are up there and they won’t be there at the end of the year and there’s teams near the bottom that you know will be up there.”

Redknapp’s comments should arguably also be similar to what Thomas Christiansen tells his side after their tremendous start to the campaign. The Whites are currently second in the Championship, having won four and drawn two of their opening six games.

After the emphatic win at the weekend, Leeds’ squad would arguably be forgiven for getting a little carried away when you consider how well they have started.

And while that confidence will boost their chances of building upon that start, Christiansen should look at Redknapp’s comments and use them as a warning against complacency, as getting too carried away could potentially leave them enduring a run of form that leaves the Whites being one of the teams tumbling down the table – as Redknapp predicted.
