Pontus Jansson has sent out a superb tweet following Marcelo Bielsa’s incredible presentation as the Leeds boss responded to the furore surrounding Spygate.
Bielsa has seemingly divided the football world since it emerged that Leeds had sent an employee to watch Derby’s training session ahead of Friday’s Championship clash.
Quickly dubbed ‘Spygate’, everyone associated with football seems to have had their say on what happened. Many backed Bielsa, but some infuriated the Leeds supporters with bizarre suggestions that the Championship leaders should face a points deduction, or be forced to replay the fixture or have the scoreline reversed so Derby receive the 2-0 win.
Bielsa scared many Leeds fans on Wednesday when it emerged that he had scheduled an emergency press conference. Given some of the amazing events of his managerial career, plenty of the Elland Road faithful were fearing that his resignation was on its way.
But what followed will arguably go down alongside Eric Cantona’s observations about seagulls in the pantheon of most memorable press conferences. The Yorkshire Evening Post has produced a full transcript as Bielsa provided an insight into his incredible scouting methods.
And following the conclusion of the press conference, Jansson sent out a fantastic tweet that showed that the Swede is fully behind his manager after another scarcely-believable day involving the league leaders.
