Should Leeds revisit interest in Fran Merida?

Earlier this season Leeds United were linked with a move for Spanish midfielder Fran Merida.
The Mail reported that technical director Victor Orta had sent scouts to watch him in action.
Now could be the ideal time for the Whites to make their move, with Samu Saiz facing a lengthy suspension.
Merida was once regarded as one of Spain’s brightest talents, with Arsenal luring him away from Barcelona as a teenager.

He made the Gunners first team before heading back to Spain with Atletico Madrid, but struggled for form and his hopes of superstar-dom disappeared.
He is currently playing for Osasuna, where he has re-discovered his form. Merida has scored five goals this season in 18 appearances, and provided three assists.
The 27-year-old has experience playing in England already, and could be a shrewd signing if Leeds revisit the interest they were credited with back in September.
Merida even played alongside Leeds star Samu Saiz at Huesca, and once the summer addition returns from his ban, the duo linking up could help the Whites in the latter stages of the season.
