Both brothers are on the books at Leeds United at the moment.

Leeds United midfielder Ronaldo Vieira has told LUTV that his twin brother will bring a never-say-die attitude with him to the Yorkshire club.

It was a good week for the Vieira family last week as the 18-year-olds signed a couple of contracts with Leeds.

Ronaldo put pen to paper on a three-year deal, having impressed for the Whites in pre-season and early on in Garry Monk’s senior setup, while Romario Vieira signed a one-year professional contract as he gears up for work in the development squad.

Romario – also a midfielder – is slightly behind his brother in terms of progress, but Ronaldo says that his sibling has plenty of qualities which will stand him in good stead.

“Yeah, he just never gives up. He just rats you about. He’s on your toes and you’re thinking ‘oh now he’s gone’, but he’s not, he sticks around,” he told LUTV, when asked if Romario had any qualities which he would like to incorporate into his own game.

“Good player as well. He’s a safe player, which is good. He just likes to keep it simple round the pitch and that.”

It has been a rapid rise to prominence for Ronaldo, who only made his first-team debut in the final game of last season.

Fast forward four months and the teenager continues to dazzle, and has started four of Leeds’ five Championship games – one win, one draw and three defeats.

Signing him up until 2019 was certainly the smart move by Leeds, who put themselves in a strong position in the likely event another club comes knocking somewhere down the line.
