Rangers should consider bringing Gyasi Zardes to Ibrox.

TEAMtalk claim that Columbus Crew forward Gyasi Zardes could be on the move in the summer, and Rangers would be wise to take a look.
The prolific Zardes, 27, enjoyed a superb 2018 MLS season, scoring 20 goals in 36 games for Columbus Crew to put himself on the radar of a host of clubs.
The United States international is believed to be attracting interest from the likes of Leeds United, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Huddersfield Town, Middlesbrough and Norwich City.
Another club who should be looking at Zardes is Rangers, who are of course managed by Steven Gerrard – a former LA Galaxy teammate of Zardes.
Zardes played alongside Gerrard for the 2016 MLS season, and Gerrard even took to Instagram that year to send a message to Zardes about playing in the Copa America semi-final against Argentina.
The pair appeared to have a decent relationship at LA Galaxy as a result, and if Zardes is available this summer, Rangers would be wise to throw their hat into the ring.

Zardes has real pace, energy and strength, and he can even play out wide, making him something of a Swiss army knife in attack; whatever role Gerrard wanted him for, Zardes would be able to play it.
Rangers have sometimes lacked that raw athletic ability in attack, especially as Umar Sadiq failed to provide it during his brief loan spell at Rangers, but Zardes fits the bill perfectly as a proven player in America and on the international stage, having notched 40 caps for the United States.
Fighting Premier League clubs won’t be easy, but Rangers have already shown with Jermain Defoe that Gerrard is a huge draw for many players, and having already dipped into the MLS market to take Chicago Fire’s Matt Polster on trial, Zardes should be on Rangers’ radar too.
