Leeds United continue to be linked with striker Mbaye Diagne.

According to Aksam in Turkey, Galatasaray are joining the race for Kasimpasa striker Mbaye Diagne, who is reportedly wanted by Leeds United in January.

Diagne, 26, made his name in the lower reaches of Italian football before earning a move to Juventus in 2013, but he never even made his debut for the Serie A giants.

The striker settled with Ujpest and Tianjin Teda, and moved to Turkey with Kasimpasa in January, where he has been nothing short of a sensation.

Diagne hit 12 goals in his first 17 appearances last season, and has started this season in even better form, finding the net a stunning seven times in his first five outings.

The new Senegal international is attracting major interest off the back of his remarkable goalscoring form, with Turkish-Football claiming interest from Leeds United.

They report that Leeds held talks with Diagne’s agent over the summer, but with the striker now attempting to gain an EU passport to play in England, the Whites are still scouting him ahead of a possible move.

Now though, Aksam in Turkey report that Diagne is now wanted by Galatasaray, with manager Fatih Terim believed to be impressed and considering a move for the January transfer window.

With Champions League football and a stay in Turkey to offer, Galatasaray may well be a tempting proposition for Diagne – but as he bids for an EU passport, England may still be in his sights, and the chance to play for a club as big as Leeds, with a manager as revered as Bielsa, may be too good to turn down if Leeds do make a move in January.
