After a 16 year wait, Leeds United are finally back in the Premier League and their opening day test could hardly be more challenging.

Leeds face champions Liverpool at Anfield, with the Premier League fixture list throwing them in at the deep end straight away.

Marcelo Bielsa has been quick to strengthen his Leeds’ side since their promotion, after being backed with serious funds by Andrea Radrizzani.

Rodrigo and Robin Koch have arrived as Leeds’ two most high profile additions.

But it could be that Koch is the only one who starts on opening day.

Koch looks likely to step into Leeds’ defence alongside Liam Cooper, as the two are Bielsa’s only two proven options at the back.

Rodrigo may well miss out though, in what would be a controversial selection choice.

Bielsa always likes his new signings to settle in and even though the Spaniard is supremely talented, Patrick Bamford looks the more likely starter.

Rodrigo has not even been able to train with Leeds yet, as he has been away on international duty, and it could be some time before he takes Bamford’s place up-front.

Elsewhere Leeds side will have a familiar look, with the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Luke Ayling and Mateusz Klich all surely set to get the nod, with 21-year-old Tyler Roberts set to feature from the bench.
