Leeds face Sheffield United at Elland Road on Friday in a hugely important Yorkshire derby towards the top of the Championship, with fourth facing third in the table.

The Whites go into the game off the back of a defeat to Leicester in the Carabao Cup in midweek, but Thomas Christiansen’s side are bound to be in a positive mood going into the contest, having got their league form back on track in their most recent game.

Leeds travelled to a Bristol City side who were unbeaten at Ashton Gate before the weekend, but managed to come away with the three points as they stormed to a 3-0 win.

Given that victory, it would certainly be no surprise if Christiansen limited the amount of changes he made from that team – the majority of whom were rested at the King Power Stadium in midweek.

One change that will have to be made comes at left-back. Christiansen has hinted to LUTV about potentially adopting a different system, but the safe money is surely on Vurnon Anita replacing the injured Cameron Borthwick-Jackson with Gaetano Berardi serving the second game of a three-match suspension.

Leeds will be boasted by the return of Stuart Dallas for the contest, but it would surely make sense for the Northern Ireland international to take a place on the bench as he has not played for two games following the very sad news that his mother had passed away.

He may be joined on the bench by Pablo Hernandez, despite the stunning goal that he scored against the Foxes on Tuesday. The performances of Gjanni Alioski and Samuel Saiz, in particular, against Bristol City, were excellent, and seeing them return to the starting lineup is surely on the cards.

With that in mind, here is a look at the full lineup we are expecting…
