Leeds United are back in action on Tuesday night as they host Reading at Elland Road, their second home game in a matter of days.
The Whites beat Bristol City 2-0 on Saturday afternoon, taking full advantage after Josh Brownhill’s red card as Kemar Roofe and Pablo Hernandez found the net.
After losing 4-1 at West Bromwich Albion before the international break, Leeds made the perfect response, and will now look to build on that against a struggling Reading side.
Marcelo Bielsa has some decisions to make over his team selection, and here is our predicted Leeds line-up for Tuesday’s clash against the Royals.
Bailey Peacock-Farrell looks unlikely to make it having been ruled out against Bristol City, and that means that youngster Will Huffer should keep his place after a clean sheet on Saturday.
Stuart Dallas and Barry Douglas should continue as the full backs, with Luke Ayling still out, whilst Aapo Halme may well partner Liam Cooper again as Pontus Jansson struggles for fitness.
Kalvin Phillips should keep his place in holding midfield, but there could be a change further forward. Mateusz Klich wasn’t at his best against Bristol City and may need a rest after a frantic opening to the campaign, and benching him in favour of Samu Saiz may bring more creativity.
Saiz would then join Adam Forshaw in midfield, supporting a front three of Hernandez, Roofe and Jack Harrison, with the latter – a substitute on Saturday much like Saiz – potentially coming in for Ezgjan Alioski down the right.
Much will depend on Peacock-Farrell and Jansson’s involvement, but it could be another youthful bench featuring Kamil Miazek, Leif Davis, Jack Clarke, Jamie Shackleton and Lewis Baker, alongside Klich and Alioski.
