Leeds United return to Championship action this weekend when they face Middlesbrough at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon
The international break is over, and clubs are now looking to get back to domestic action, with Leeds desperate to halt an alarming slide of late.
After dropping just four points in the first seven games of the season, Leeds have now lost seven of their last nine games, and manager Thomas Christiansen finds himself under increasing pressure.
Having lost 3-1 at Brentford before the break, Christiansen will now be looking to hit back with a win on Sunday, when former Leeds boss Garry Monk returns to Elland Road with his Middlesbrough side.
Christiansen has line-up decisions to make, and one of them may be to bring Felix Wiedwald back in goal, with fans keen to see the German come back in for Andrew Lonergan between the sticks.
Luke Ayling, Pontus Jansson, Liam Cooper and Gaetano Berardi should make up the back four, though the likes of Conor Shaughnessy could be pushing for playing time.
If Christiansen goes back to two central midfielders, Eunan O’Kane may be the man to drop out after being substituted at Brentford, leaving Ronald Vieira and Kalvin Phillips as the midfield partnership.
Stuart Dallas – if fit – should surely be given a chance to shine on the left, with Samu Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski also supplying striker Pierre-MIchel Lasogga, who may be at risk of being dropped after some poor, anonymous displays, but his goal threat may just keep him in the side.
Kemar Roofe will be pushing for a start either out wide or in attack, whilst the likes of Lonergan, Shaughnessy, O’Kane, Hadi Sacko, Jay-Roy Grot and Pablo Hernandez could feature from the bench as Leeds desperately seek to turn around their fortunes.
