Leeds will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing result at Hull City in midweek when they face Cardiff City at Elland Road at the weekend.

Thomas Christiansen’s side have still not won since Boxing Day, losing four of their last six games in all competitions, and their display at the KCOM Stadium on Tuesday may not have done much to alleviate some of the pessimism that has crept in amongst some of the fans, with Felix Wiedwald’s excellent performance keeping the Whites in the clash.

While Leeds are enduring a poor run however, there was some good news on transfer deadline day with the club landing Tyler Roberts for an initial £2.5 million from West Bromwich Albion.

With Leeds not managing a single shot on target during their clash with the Tigers, it would not be a surprise if Christiansen decided to reshuffle his attacking options for the game against Neil Warnock’s side – and that may include a debut for Roberts.

Stuart Dallas of Leeds scores the winning penalty during the Carabao Cup Third Round match between Burnley and Leeds United at Turf Moor on September 19, 2017 in Burnley, England.

Kemar Roofe may be the man to drop out for Roberts, while Stuart Dallas may perhaps get a chance to make a rare start, with Pablo Hernandez moving out to the left and Gjanni Alioski dropping to the bench. The Northern Irishman did well after filling in at right-back from the sixth minute at Hull, and his ability to provide the defence with support may be beneficial against a Cardiff side that can overpower teams going forward.

The final change comes at centre-back with Matthew Pennington replacing Conor Shaughnessy, who was stretchered off at Hull. Though with Pennington also coming back from a recent injury, perhaps there is a chance that Gaetano Berardi may come into the middle and either Dallas or Vurnon Anita go to right-back.

With that in mind, here is a look at the predicted lineup in full…
