Leeds United face Cambridge United in the third round of the FA Cup on Monday night, and while Garry Monk may make several changes for the tie, it would hardly be a surprise if he still selected a strong lineup for the contest.

Despite the two divisions between the sides, Monk’s professionalism will surely prevent him taking Shaun Derry’s men lightly, especially as a victory will see the Whites maintain the momentum they have built in the Championship over the last couple of months.

Nevertheless, Monk may still want to make a number of changes.

Leeds’ Pontus Jansson is almost certainly going to feature

One player who will almost definitely feature is Pontus Jansson. The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that the Swede’s 22nd appearance will activate a clause in his loan deal that will allow the Whites to sign him permanently for £3.5 million. And with 20 games under his belt, Monk will surely not rest him now.

However, it may not be a shock to see the likes of Marco Silvestri, Ronaldo Vieira, Kalvin Phillips, Stuart Dallas and Marcus Antonsson come into the starting lineup.

Though the quintet did not feature in Leeds’ most recent league game, they are all capable of making an impact so it would certainly be unfair to suggest that this team has been significantly weakened.

Should Monk pick this team, the one question that Leeds fans may have is what will the front four look like.

Kemar Roofe has excelled in the number 10 role, while Souleymane Doukara has shown some glimpses of real quality when playing up front, so perhaps Antonsson and Dallas will feature on the wings.
