Leeds United are likely to put out a very strong side for their final pre-season game before the Championship begins next weekend.

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa takes his seat before the match during the Pre-season Friendly match between York City and Leeds United on July 10, 2019 in York, England.

Leeds round off their pre-season preparations this weekend when they travel to Sardinia to face Cagliari just over a week before they open the new Championship season away at Bristol City.

Marcelo Bielsa is likely to play the strongest lineup available to him for the clash with the Serie A side, just as he did when Leeds completed their pre-season campaign against Las Palmas one year ago.

Unfortunately there are some injury concerns, with both Kemar Roofe and Mateusz Bogusz limping off during their final game out in Australia. It remains to be seen how serious their respective problems are, but it would not be a huge surprise to see neither risked on Saturday.

That is likely to mean Patrick Bamford will lead the line, while Leeds fans may get their first glimpse of Helder Costa and Pablo Hernandez playing alongside each other. Hernandez looks ready to be the talisman once again this term, while Costa has whetted the appetite with some moments of brilliance since arriving on loan from Wolves, so it could be incredibly exciting to see the pair feature in the same side.

The other new signing who may be involved is Ben White. Like Costa, he has impressed the fans over the summer, and he may get the chance to show what he can do alongside Liam Cooper ahead of next weekend’s curtain-raiser.

Elsewhere, Kiko Casilla, Stuart Dallas, Barry Douglas, Kalvin Phillips and Mateusz Klich are amongst the first-team stalwarts that will surely be expecting to start the game.
