Uwe Rosler’s men have started the season in somewhat strange fashion, drawing a number of games and performing arguably better on the road than at Elland Road.
Against Birmingham City, it was a real opportunity for Leeds to finally end their winless home streak and give the supporters plenty to be optimistic about over the international break.
However, after a bright opening period, Leeds looked off the pace and for all their possession, the Blues were comfortable as they ran out 2-0 winners.

This can be taken in two ways…
From a positive aspect, it shows how Rosler is keen to adopt a passing style of play and instigate his teams’ attacks from the back rather than just pumping hopeful long balls forward.
However, with those three players all being defenders, it perhaps shows how a lack of movement in-front of them caused the back four to play numerous sideways and often pointless passes.
The fact that the Blues were rarely threatened throughout may point to the latter, though it’s always worth remembering that Rosler is still new in the job and his style is very much a work in progress.
