Leeds United’s Gaetano Berardi was ruled out for four months in October.

Leeds United physio Rob Price has revealed to LUTV that Gaetano Berardi is recovering ‘really, really well’ in his fight back to full fitness.
The Swiss defender was ruled out for four months in October after suffering a hamstring tendon problem.
But Price says although the latest scans are very promising, it will be a fortnight before a decision is made on whether the 30-year-old can start training outdoors.
“It’s interesting with Berardi,” Price told LUTV. “We’ve done a series of injections just to try and improve the healing of the area at the top of his hamstring there.
“We went for some re-imaging of it this week and it shows that it’s improving really, really well but we’ve got another stage, we’ll re-image him again in two weeks just to make sure before we can push him on further outside.”
Berardi, who has only played 110 minutes of Championship football since August, was a huge player for Leeds early on this season and the sooner he’s back, the better.

Really, Marcelo Bielsa could do with him right now after Liam Cooper suffered a ‘serious’ injury in the 1-0 win at Sheffield United on Saturday.
It means that Pontus Jansson is Leeds’ only fit and proven centre-backs at this stage, though Bielsa can also call on Aapo Halme and Conor Shaughnessy if needs be.
Realistically, Berardi will not be playing for United again until the new year but, cliche aside, he will be like a new signing for the Argentine when he is back.
