Leeds United owner picked a bad time to talk up his ‘sightseeing’.
Monday afternoon was a bad one for Leeds United fans as a triple whammy of bad transfer news appeared to damage the club’s hopes.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reported the Whites were backing off Derby’s Matej Vydra over his wage demands, BBC Sport reported target Angus Gunn closed on a move to Southampton, before BBC Wales reported West Brom were in talks with Swansea to sign defender Kyle Bartley, another Leeds target.
So it was a bad time for Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani to start gloating about his trip to the World Cup, where he was ‘sightseeing’.
Purely in terms of timing it was unfortunate, but also suggested that Radrizzani may not be taking Leeds’ transfer market struggles seriously enough.
The season kicks off in less than a month and Leeds have not spent a penny, only signing Chelsea youngster Lewis Baker on a loan deal.
Radrizzani may come through, and who knows, his trip to Russia may even involve a negotiation or two
