Bradford City boss Stuart McCall has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that he thinks Leeds United loanee Bryce Hosannah is a ‘big attacking threat’.

Hosannah joined the Whites from Crystal Palace in 2017 having been released by the Eagles, but hasn’t been able to break through at Elland Road.

The 21-year-old has never played a first-team game for Leeds, and he went out on his first loan move away from the club last month.

Leeds sent Hosannah on loan to neighbours Bradford City, giving him a taste of men’s football down in League Two, which should help him for the future.

Hosannah played well in a 3-1 win at Mansfield Town earlier this month, earning praise from Bradford fans – and Bantams boss McCall has now joined in.

McCall, who was born in Leeds, has admitted that Hosannah has actually had a toe problem, meaning he was short of practice before Tuesday’s trip to Bolton Wanderers.

McCall praised him as a ‘big attacking threat’, stating that he ‘performed well’ against Bolton in comments that should excite Leeds fans.

“He only actually joined in training on Monday because he’s had a toe problem,” said McCall. “He showed that he was a big attacking threat for us down the right-hand side, other than putting the ball in the back of the net which his performance merited. I thought he really performed well,” he added.
