Leeds United reportedly aren’t giving up in trying to sign Rangers winger Ryan Kent, it seems.
The Whites were linked with making a £10 million move for the former Liverpool winger last week and Gers boss Steven Gerrard confirmed that they had rejected a bid from the newly-promoted Premier League side.
This season will be Leeds’ first in the top flight since 2004 and with a nine-figure windfall from winning promotion, the Elland Road club look intent on putting their money where their mouth is.
And according to The Scottish Sun, Leeds will make another test of Rangers’ resolve by lodging a £14 million offer.
The report adds that United have offered to double Kent’s salary – which would be around £50,000 per week – in an effort to bring him back to England.
The 23-year-old is a popular player at Ibrox, and Leeds legend Gary McAllister, who is Gerrard’s assistant, said back in 2019 that the player was simply ‘electric’ [The Scottish Sun].
The West Yorkshire club are clearly interested but after re-signing Jack Harrison on loan, and paying £15 million to sign Helder Costa permanently, it remains to be seen where Kent would fit.
