Leeds United are reportedly leading to the race to sign Torino midfielder Sasa Lukic, with the Serbia international keen to leave Turin this January amid interest from Premier League clubs.
According to Forza Roma, Jesse Marsch’s side are winning the contest to capture the 26-year-old maestro, with the likes of Everton and AS Roma also keen on signing Lukic as the midfielder prepares to make his FIFA World Cup debut later today against competition favourites Brazil.
As per the report, Lukic is desperate for a move in January, with Torino open to a sale if they receive an offer of €15m (£13m) for the Serbian, though there is every chance this value could increase if the midfielder has a competition to remember out in Qatar.
Hailed by former Torino star Gleison Bremer as an ‘excellent’ player, Torino Granata reported earlier this month of Leeds’ interest in the Serie A playmaker. And this latest update seems to confirm that the Whites will make an attempt to sign Lukic in the coming weeks.

Indeed, January is shaping up to be a crucial month for Leeds as Marsch looks to add key signings to the squad that could guarantee their Premier League safety for another season. And Lukic could be an ideal addition for the Yorkshire side in the winter market.
Versatile in midfield and an experienced head with 32 international appearances for Serbia, Lukic’s profile is perfect for what Leeds are looking for. And with the 26-year-old now keen to leave Torino, the Whites need to ensure they make the first move to bring the maestro to England.
Leeds signing Lukic would be a fantastic move

Leeds struck gold this summer with the signings of Marc Roca and and Tyler Adams. And Marsch could now have the chance to make it a trilogy of good midfield additions with the arrival of Lukic, who could be tempted with a move to the Premier League in the January window.
After all, the midfielder has impressed in Italy for the past six years with Torino, and signing for an English club like Leeds feels like a natural progression for the Serbian international, who seems adamant on leaving Turin in January after the World Cup.
