Leeds United are reportedly close to selling Jack Clarke for £10 million, and the fans are hoping to see swift action taken.

While many of the Leeds fans have reluctantly accepted that it could be a sensible move to sell Jack Clarke, that acceptance will only be temporary while the supporters wait to see if those funds are immediately used to strengthen Marcelo Bielsa’s squad.

The Telegraph reports that Clarke is closing in on an initial £10 million move to Tottenham, with a medical imminent ahead of confirmation of a deal that is also set to include add-ons.

The supporters will be hoping that Clarke’s exit proves to be the catalyst for a number of signings to come in. But it must be another piece of business that Leeds prioritise getting done with the eight-figure windfall.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that Kemar Roofe is out of contract at Elland Road next summer. And after the season he has just enjoyed, it would be no surprise if he was attracting attention during this window.

With that in mind, getting Roofe tied down to a new long-term deal should be one of the first moves that Leeds look to get down once Clarke’s departure is confirmed.

The forward did struggle towards the end of the last campaign as he came back from injury. But the 26-year-old had scored 14 goals before mid-January, and went on to produce a very good finish to bag the winner in the first-leg of the play-off semi-final.

Some fans are backing Patrick Bamford to enjoy a much better second season. But as things stand, Roofe looks set to be a vital player for Leeds once again this year.

Putting an end to speculation surrounding Roofe’s future before it properly starts therefore, could be an incredibly smart move from Leeds, and would send out a statement with the fans wanting to see action with one of the brightest prospects once again heading to the Premier League.
