The Stoke City front-man would be an excellent short-term option for Leeds United.
Leeds are currently sitting pretty at the top fo the Championship table, six points clear of third placed Sheffield United, but that will surely not stop Marcelo Bielsa from bolstering his ranks this month.
The Argentine has implemented a wonderfully exciting, expansive brand of football during his time in charge at Elland Road, and Whites fans must be pinching themselves when watching their team in action.
If there is one criticism of Leeds, however, it is that they are sometimes too one-dimensional in their attacking play.
They have come a cropper on numerous occasions this season when they haven’t had a plan B to fall back on.
And with this in mind, the Whites should consider a move for Stoke City’s Peter Crouch, who is available for transfer this month, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
The 37-year-old doesn’t have much longer left playing at the highest level, but he would be an extremely useful option for Leeds on a short term deal.
Standing at 6ft 7in tall, Crouch would provide the west Yorkshire outfit with the option of playing in a more direct manner, if and when a particular situation or scenario calls for it.
There are few better in the game at acting as a focal point for his side’s attacking play than the former Liverpool and Tottenham striker.
Whilst Kemar Roofe would undoubtedly remain as Bielsa’s first-choice forward, Crouch would offer Leeds something entirely different, and could be used as an impact sub to great effect.
And if Leeds do manage to sign the former England international, it might turn out to be the addition that makes all the difference for them in their ongoing quest for promotion during the second half of the season.
