Ajax have reportedly joined Leeds United in the race to sign Manchester United’s Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.
According to the Daily Mail, Ajax have joined the race to sign Manchester United left back Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, which may be a blow to Leeds United.
Borthwick-Jackson, 20, has been in the ranks at Old Trafford since the age of six having joined United back in 2003, and he made his way up to becoming a first-team player under Louis van Gaal.

The 6ft 3in left back made 14 appearances for the United first team during the 2015-16 season, but Jose Mourinho chose to loan him out to Wolverhampton Wanderers last season rather than keep him at Old Trafford.
Borthwick-Jackson endured a nightmare spell at Molineux, playing just seven times before returning to Old Trafford this summer, and a permanent move could be on the cards following Demetri Mitchell’s emergence as a young left back United intend to develop.
The Daily Mail now report that Ajax are hoping to sign Borthwick-Jackson as they look to sign a new left back, having sold Jairo Riedewald to Crystal Palace today – and that may force Leeds to make a move.
ESPN claimed earlier this month that, having lost Charlie Taylor to Burnley, Leeds were lining up Borthwick-Jackson as his replacement, with manager Thomas Christiansen looking to land another young left back.

News of a European giant like Ajax joining the race for Borthwick-Jackson may be a concern for Leeds, as the lure of playing in the Champions League club for one of the Netherlands’ biggest clubs could be too good to turn down.
If Leeds move quickly, they can still convince Borthwick-Jackson to stay in England by promising him a first-team place at Elland Road, but today’s speculation may just force Leeds to firm up their interest or look elsewhere for a new left back.
