Leeds United look set to face a former defender when they take on Cardiff City this evening.

Leeds United and Cardiff City go head-to-head this evening in what is their biggest game of the season so far.
The Whites are currently top of the Championship but the Bluebirds are level on points and just two places below them on goal-difference, so whoever wins this match can take a big advantage into the upcoming fixtures.

There are likely to be plenty of important battles all over the pitch, and one of note could be between new Leeds striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga and their former centre-back Sol Bamba.
The Ivorian was a former fan favourite at Elland Road but he left somewhat acrimoniously and is now on the books at Cardiff City, for whom he has featured 36 times to date.
He is expected to return to the starting XI against his former side and if he does so, he will need to get the better of Lasogga, who should start this clash after finding the net against Ipswich Town last time out.

Leeds need to be physical in this fixture, something they struggled with in their defeat to Millwall earlier this month, and that means Lasogga should be leading the line despite the recent birth of his baby daughter and his subsequent journeys to and from his homeland.
Bamba will want to impress against his one-time employers but Leeds cannot afford to slip up in this encounter and their new striker must make his mark from the outset, ensuring that he ultimately gets the better of a defender Leeds fans know well.
