Leeds United are reportedly stalling over a deal for Andy Yiadom.
Leeds United will be in the market for a host of new signings this summer, though an alleged disagreement has put a move for Andy Yiadom in doubt.
The Whites once again finished in the bottom half of the Championship table after a dismal 2018, and manager Paul Heckingbottom will be hoping for additions to boost his squad.
Whilst director of football Victor Orta may be in charge of transfers even after a raft of poor signings, Heckingbottom may have been hoping to bring in some players of his own.
However, the Sheffield Star report that Leeds chiefs may not allow Heckingbottom to sign Barnsley defender Andy Yiadom, having so far been reluctant to rubber-stamp a move.
The defender is out of contract this summer and is wanted by his former Barnsley boss Heckingbottom, but the internal disagreement at Elland Road may just lead to the Ghanaian moving on elsewhere.
As reported by the Daily Mail in January, Swansea City wanted to land Yiadom to add depth at right back behind Kyle Naughton, and a new move from the Swans wouldn’t be a shock.
Right back Angel Rangel has announced his departure from the Liberty Stadium, and Yiadom fits the bill for the Swans as further cover, especially on a free transfer having been interested in buying him.
Yiadom isn’t a make-or-break signing for Leeds, but it seems clear that Heckingbottom wants him – and the dithering behind the scenes may just lead to the Whites missing out and allowing a divisional rival to snap up one of Heckingbottom’s top targets, which doesn’t exactly bode well.
