Klich has his eye on more first-team football at Leeds this season.

Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich has told the club’s official website that he is desperate to be given more game time at Elland Road this season, after a frustrating 2017-18 campaign.
The 28-year-old was afforded just 135 minutes of Championship football last season, spread across five league appearances, before being loaned to Dutch side FC Utrecht in the January transfer window.
However, 10-time Poland international Klich has remained a crucial part of Leeds’ pre-season under Marcelo Bielsa, with the former Wolfsburg midfielder coming on at half-time for Samu Saiz on Sunday in the 1-0 win over Las Palmas.
Speaking after the narrow win over the La Liga outfit, Klich stated that he is keen to prove himself this season and get the chance to shine – more so than he did last season.
“We play football to play in the first 11,” Klich said. “Everyone wants to play and we have a good team. I had a half-year break, and now I hope that I will play more than last season.”

Klich is in direct competition with Kalvin Phillips, Ronaldo Vieira, Adam Forshaw and new signing Lewis Baker for a spot in the middle of the park, with Leeds getting their campaign underway on Sunday at home against Stoke City.
The midfielder has two years remaining on the three-year deal he signed last summer, and will now be looking to show Leeds fans just what he is capable of after the Yorkshire club spent £1.5million to bring him to Yorkshire.
