Eunan O’Kane was sent off during Leeds United’s Championship defeat last weekend.

Eunan O’Kane has told LUTV that he was disgusted with himself for the incident that led to him being sent off during Leeds’ defeat to Ipswich Town last weekend, and apologised to everyone involved with the club after the dismissal.
O’Kane saw red after an off the ball incident during the first-half at Portman Road where he moved his head towards Jonas Knudsen. While it was not initially clear what had happened between the pair, the lack of complaint from the midfielder or any of his Leeds teammates suggested that he was in the wrong.

Other angles went on to show that the referee had made the right decision in sending O’Kane off, and ahead of the Whites’ clash with Millwall on Saturday – which he was suspended for – he expressed his remorse for his mistake.
“I think the only thing that I can do is apologise,” he told LUTV.
“Personally, I’m disgusted with myself. My actions were very bad. I don’t condone that in any way, shape or form. I don’t have a reason for why I did it, I can’t explain it, but I’m disgusted with myself. I can only apologise to everyone that’s connected with Leeds United Football Club, the fans, the board, the players for my actions.

“It happened in the heat of the moment. It’s something I pride myself on, is not being hot-headed and being calm, and I’ve let myself down as much as everyone else.”
Many of the supporters blamed O’Kane for the defeat last weekend as Leeds were on top before his sending off and spent large parts of the game after his dismissal in control of the contest, and it is understandable that many felt that they could have won the fixture had they kept 11 men on the pitch.
Unfortunately for Thomas Christiansen, O’Kane is not the only player to see red for Leeds since the turn of the year, with Samuel Saiz being sent off in the FA Cup tie with Newport County and Liam Cooper receiving his marching orders in the defeat to the Lions.
And with Kalvin Phillips now set to sit out the next two games after collecting a 10th yellow card on Saturday, Leeds will have to do without four important players at a time when they are desperately trying to turn their form around and get back towards the top six.
