Idolizing the Spurs captain certainly makes complete sense for the prodigy, considering he is a fellow Frenchman.

Moreover, Lloris captained France to their World Cup triumph in 2018 and seems to be at his ultimate best in national colours.

As for Neuer, he is not just one of the most influential No.1’s, but perhaps one of the most impactful footballers as a whole in the 21st century.

With Manuel Neuer and Hugo Lloris being legends of the game, it is no surprise why Leeds United starlet, Illan Meslier considers them as role models.

Leeds United gem Illan Meslier has discussed why Hugo Lloris & Manuel Neuer have always been his role models.

“I saw Hugo [Lloris] with Nice and with Lyon, and of course I saw him growing up in Tottenham. He is obviously a French legend.”

“My [main] role model is Manuel Neuer because he’s a very complete, modern goalkeeper. He has evolved the position of the goalkeeper and won the World Cup in 2014”, he told NBC Sports.

If Illan Meslier becomes even half the goalkeeper both Manuel Neuer and Hugo Lloris have been, Leeds fans will have plenty to smile about.
