Leeds star is fit and coming into form.

Barry Douglas of Leeds United looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Leeds United and Middlesbrough at Elland Road on August 31, 2018 in Leeds, England.

Barry Douglas’ first season at Leeds United was a big disappointment.

This was mainly down to injury rather than his own shortcomings, with various fitness lay-offs causing him to miss time, including the play-offs.

This season Douglas appears to be at full fitness and he is coming into form.

He helped Leeds keep heir first clean sheet of the season at the weekend against Wigan Athletic in a 2-0 victory.

Douglas made 99 touches in the win, and created two goalscoring chances from left-back.

He is one of the most creative defenders in the Championship when on form, as demonstrated by his 14 assists for Wolves in 2017/18.

Despite all his injuries, he managed five for Leeds last season, and the signs are encouraging this time around.

Leeds paid £3 million for Douglas in 2018, and he has the potential to make this investment seem like a bargain.

A fully fit and firing Douglas could be the difference for Leeds to win promotion.
