Fabrizio Romano has said on Twitch (9:14pm, July 1, 2021) that talks between Leeds United and Hertha Berlin over Matheus Cunha are not going well at the moment.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has said that a deal to sign Cunha is not close for Leeds.
Romano said on Twitch (9:14pm, July 1, 2021): “What I know is that currently negotiations between Leeds and Hertha Berlin are not going so well. So, they want him, but it is not close to being agreed.”
Matheus Cunha interest
Leeds have been linked with Cunha.
Berliner Kurier reported in May interest from Leeds among other clubs in the 22-year-old forward.
German club Hertha are reportedly looking for €40 million (£34.40 million) as transfer fee for the Brazilian.
We covered the report here on HITC Sport at the time.

Leeds United fans should stay positive
While it will be disappointing for Leeds fans to hear that talks are not going well, we must remember that it is only July 2.
It is very early in the summer transfer window, and negotiations take time.
The positive thing is that Leeds and Hertha are actually in talks.
This suggests that there is willingness from the two clubs to get a deal done.

Cunha made 25 starts and two substitute appearances in the Bundesliga for Hertha last season.
The 22-year-old Brazilian scored seven goals and gave four assists in those matches.
The youngster is a versatile player who can play in a central attacking role, upfront and out on the left wing.
