According to The Athletic, Southampton have picked Jesse Marsch over Steven Gerrard, which means that former Rangers and Aston Villa manager is still available for Leeds United.

The Mirror have reported that Leeds are interested in appointing Liverpool legend Gerrard as their new manager.
The Daily Mail have also claimed that Leeds are looking at bringing the 42-year-old to Elland Road to replace Marsch.
Leeds sacked Marsch as their manager last week after a run of poor results.
The West Yorkshire club are in real danger of getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.
Like Leeds, Southampton are also in trouble and could go down to the Championship at the end of the campaign.
The Athletic are reporting this morning that Southampton are set to name Marsch as their new manager.
While the Saints did consider Gerrard and former Chelsea and Everton boss Frank Lampard, they are now set to go ahead with hiring the American manager.
A final decision will soon be made, with former Leeds boss Marsch the leading candidate.
It seems that Marsch will find a new club quicker than Leeds will get a new manager.
It will be interesting to see if the Whites now press ahead with Gerrard.
