Leeds United defender Luke Ayling urged Izzy Brown on Instagram to ‘keep your head up’ after he ruptured his Achilles in training.
The one-time Leeds loanee posted on his Instagram account at his devastating news, with Ayling sending this classy message to the player:
“Keep your head up man,” said Ayling. “A lot of people are right behind you.”
The Lancashire Post report that Brown ruptured his Achilles tendon in training on Monday and he is set to be sidelined for months.
It is said that the incident happened during a possession drill with no one near the former Chelsea academy product.
It’s perhaps one of the worst feelings for a footballer because the season hasn’t already started and Brown will feel like the new campaign is already over for him.
After starting pre-season, he would have been looking forward to the new Championship campaign, which is only weeks away now.
But the versatile forward will be hoping to return back stronger and become a better player for it in the long run.
And Brown will also be hoping that Preston bring a smile on his face on the pitch, as they will be looking to perhaps be a surprise package for the play-offs.
One thing is for sure, there isn’t huge pressure on Preston and they will be hoping to take a leaf out of Barnsley’s book from last season and knock on that top-six door.
