Leeds United have been linked with striker Jerry Mbakogu.

Leeds United have not had much luck with injuries this season especially up front.

Summer signing Caleb Ekuban has had two long spells on the sidelines while new addition Tyler Roberts is now out for an ‘extended spell’ after suffering an injury in training ahead of his potential debut.

Reinforcements are potentially arriving in the summer, with Jerry Mbakogu tipped to join [via Gazzamercato] with Leeds lining up a £4.4 million deal.

But he now too is battling with an injury.

Tuttomercatoweb report Mbakogu ‘is struggling with an annoying knee pain’, and he is at risk of missing Carpi’s match with Foggia this weekend.

He missed training yesterday and also sat out his side’s draw with Cremonese last weekend.

Leeds’ bad luck with injuries is seemingly extending to the strikers they want to sign too.

This is one the Whites will want to monitor as they weigh up whether to splash out in the summer.

Mbakogu has eight goals in all competitions this season.

The Mail reported this week that the Nigerian is in the process of applying for a dual Italian passport to aid a potential move to Leeds.
