Sarkic left Leeds last summer to join Barakaldo CF on loan.

Leeds United youngster Oliver Sarkic has told local Spanish outlet El Correo that he is certainly frustrated with his lack of game time at Barakaldo CF, but is desperate to show he deserves more game time.
Sarkic, 21, has managed just nine appearances for Barakaldo this season, but he did score the winner against CD Izarra to win 1-0 on February 17. It saw him play an hour of the 1-0 defeat to Racing last weekend.
The former Benfica striker joined Leeds in the summer of 2017 from the Portuguese giants, and was a key member of the club’s Under-23 side for the first year of his Leeds stay.
But Victor Orta opted to send a whole host of players on loan last summer – 23 in total – and Sarkic was one of those, joining Barakaldo until the end of the season. He discussed his frustrations since moving to Spain.
“I arrived on the last day of preseason and the coach already had the team quite trained. I am always ready to help the team. Of course I want to play more minutes, I want to show that I can play and I deserve to play,” Sarkic said.
“I can show much more, but when you do not play there is a mental impact.”
Sarkic has failed to make a single appearance at Elland Road for the first team, despite scoring goals for Benfica B – who player in the second tier of Portuguese football.
The Montenegro youth international has a contract at Elland Road until the summer of 2020 and his lack of game time may determine whether he remains at Leeds beyond the summer.
