Leeds United loanee Mateusz Klich could make his debut for the Eredivisie side on Friday.

In terms of transfers that would not have caught Leeds fans by surprise this month, the departure of Mateusz Klich will undoubtedly be up there after his difficult start to life with the Whites.

Klich managed only one Championship start following his summer move to Elland Road and he was one of a number of players who were generally slammed for their performances against Newport County in the FA Cup third round earlier in the month.

Apart from a really encouraging performance in the Carabao Cup at Burnley earlier in the campaign, Klich probably never quite convinced the fans that he was going to be able to make a real impact for a play-off place-chasing side in the second tier.

And when Leeds announced that they had signed Adam Forshaw earlier in the window, his exit went from seeming likely to becoming almost inevitable. He ultimately joined Utrecht on loan for the rest of the season.

The Poland international could make his debut for the Eredivisie side on Wednesday when they host Feyenoord. And that may mean that his debut may be overshadowed by an opponent also in line to make his bow for his new club.

Robin van Persie is in line to make his second Feyenoord debut in the game having recently moved back to The Netherlands after spells with Arsenal, Manchester United and Fenerbahce.

Van Persie may be in the twilight of his career, but it would still be a brilliant way for Klich to endear himself to the Utrecht fans, and perhaps send a small message to his parent club, if he helped his new team keep the 34-year-old quiet.
