Marcus Antonsson gave Leeds fans something else to smile about on the night that they went to the top of the Championship as he scored the second goal of his loan spell at Blackburn Rovers.

Antonsson scored Rovers’ second away at Rochdale at the weekend to open his account following his loan move away from Elland Road in the summer.

And he followed that up with his second goal in as many games last night. After a goalless first-half, Blackburn took the lead against Scunthorpe just before the hour-mark with Antonsson finding the back of the net with a composed volley from close range to send his current club above their opponents in the League One table.

And following the game, Antonsson took to Twitter to comment on Rovers’ latest victory.

As mentioned, the goal will give Leeds supporters something else to be positive about on a great night for Thomas Christiansen’s side, as their hard-fought 2-0 victory over Birmingham sent them to the top of the second tier.

And while Antonsson arguably faces an uphill battle trying to break back into the Whites team in future – given how much he struggled during his first year at Elland Road coupled with how many striker options Thomas Christiansen has available to him – many Leeds supporters responded to the 26-year-old’s tweet, congratulating Antonsson on his latest goal.
