Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has endured a difficult time on loan at Leeds United, much like he did with Wolverhampton Wanderers last year.
Ahead of Leeds’ clash with Wolves, Thomas Christiansen confirmed, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, that Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is back fit for the clash at Molineux after recovering from an ankle injury.
For Borthwick-Jackson, he will surely be delighted that he is not only back fit, but could be in contention to perhaps feature against Wolves given that he endured a torrid time on loan with the club last season.
The left-back made just six appearances for the Whites’ Championship rivals during his time with the club, and did not feature for the first-team once after Christmas.
And with his time at Leeds unfortunately hardly going any better right now – though there were some bright signs just before he sustained the injury in the Carabao Cup tie with Leicester – he will be, perhaps optimistically, hoping that Christiansen takes a chance on him for the game against the table-toppers.
While the manager at his former club is different, he would surely love to prove a point to those who were at Molineux last season – but, as mentioned, it will surely be a slim hope that he will start against Wolves.
Gaetano Berardi arguably put in one of his best performances at left-back in the weekend win over Middlesbrough, so it seems more likely that Borthwick-Jackson may have to settle for a place on the bench initially and perhaps hope that Christiansen brings him on during the game.
