Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has told Sky Sports that he wants Raphinha, Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison to be better than Liverpool trio Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane at Elland Road today.

Bielsa’s Leeds will take on Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Elland Road in the Premier League today.

Raphinha and Harrison will be the two wingers for the Whites, while England international striker Bamford will lead the line.

Roberto Firmino is injured for the match, while means that Liverpool boss Klopp is set to play Salah, Jota and Mane as the front-three.

Bielsa told Sky Sports: “When Sunday’s game against Liverpool arrives, with Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane, I dream that Raphinha, Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison are going to be better than those three.

“That is always my big dream. I always think that Rodrigo, Kalvin Phillips, Matheusz Klich and Stuart Dallas are going to better than N’Golo Kante, Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic, for example.”

Daunting task

Jota is a very good attacking player, while Salah and Mane are world-class footballers.

Salah in particular is a goal machine who could end up outscoring Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Kane in the Premier League this season.

The Liverpool no.11 has already scored two goals in the Premier League this season, and found the back of the net 22 times in the league in 2020-21.

Salah and Mane have been on top of their game for years, and it will take Raphinha, Bamford and Harrison to reach that level.

Now, of course, today anything is possible, and the three Leeds players need to use Bielsa’s comments as an inspiration and do their best against Liverpool.
