On a free he may be worth taking a gamble on, but Leeds need to be thinking bigger than the Brentford ace.
Leeds’ current hopes are that they will be a Premier League team next season, and their sights should be a lot bigger than MacLeod, given that they may have a big pot of money to spend.
Even if they remain a Championship club, Leeds need to be targeting Premier League standard players.
MacLeod is yet to show he is capable of playing at that level, with injuries wrecking his stint in the Championship so far.
In 10 starts this season he has two goals and one assist, which is not bad. Yet he does not look like a game changer who would transform Leeds either.
Manager Marcelo is only on a two year deal at the club and if they remain in the Championship for next season, Leeds need to go big in the transfer market.
A free swoop on Brentford should not be a part of that.
