Leeds United fans appear to be growing frustrated with the club’s lack of transfer activity.
Plenty of names have been linked with moves to Elland Road this summer but, as it stands, a season-long loan for Lewis Baker represents Leeds only bit of business so far.
The Whites’ spiked the fans’ optimism by hiring the renowned Marcelo Bielsa last month, but the glass is slowly but surely becoming half empty on a gradual basis.
However, the speed at which United signed Baker should remind frustrated supporters that things can change quickly – very quickly.
The West Yorkshire side were first linked with the Chelsea-owned star – who earns £20,000 per week in West London [Spotrac] – on June 28, going by The Mirror’s Live Transfer Blog on that day.
That was a Thursday. By the Saturday morning, Baker was being unveiled at Elland Road.
Football fans can be impatient when it comes to transfers, but the Baker deal is proof that the club’s hierarchy can get deals done in a prompt manner.
The transfer window closes in a month, so it seems like the pressure is on Leeds to get their act together, but when you can complete deals in the space of two days then that is still a very long time to satisfy anxious fans.
