Leeds United are keen on signing David Nugent.
Leeds United are in with a strong chance of signing striker David Nugent after The Sun reported he is keen on a move to the Whites.
Nugent is under contract to Middlesbrough but has played only 40 minutes of Premier League football this season for the club.

A move away appears inevitable, and a switch would have the backing of Leeds legend Peter Lorimer who praised him earlier this year.
Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post this summer, Lorimer described Nugent as a key cog in Leicester’s promotion winning side from 2014.
He said: “The difference for Leicester came when they started using their cash wisely – investing it in safe bets who were genuinely likely to get them out of the Championship; David Nugent and players like that.”
Nugent, 31, is just as Lorimer describes. A proven Championship performer who can be a real asset to a promotion chasing club.

He netted 59 goals in 180 appearances for Leicester, while last season for Middlesbrough he netted eight Championship goals and provided seven assists in 24 starts.
Nugent is not the type of signing which would disturb Leeds United’s rhythm by upsetting top scorer Chris Wood or even giving manager Garry Monk the type of selection headache he would not want.
He is an ideal fill in, a player who can get Leeds over the line in the promotion hunt, and one who can be relied upon to give Wood rest when he requires it, and lead the line for weeks in case of injury.
