Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla left Real Madrid in January.

One of the early beneficiaries from this move is Zinedine Zidane’s son, Luca.

Luca Zidane is a young goalkeeper who has been playing for Real’s academy team in recent seasons.

At the weekend he made his first team debut.

Leeds stopper Casilla has backed the youngster to succeed.

He told Mundo Deportivo: “Luca deserves all the good that comes his way.

“I’ll be the first to be happy for him because he’s a great person and a great goalkeeper.

“I think he’s made a leap with his maturity this year and he’s doing well with Castilla.

“He has that thing that a goalkeeper needs.”

Luca Zidane should benefit from his dad taking charge of the first team, but his selection will be given even more scrutiny.

Leeds stopper Casillas has made his job easier by stepping aside, moving off the Real bench for a new adventure in England.
